Droguería Sarrá was established in 1853
in Havana, Cuba by Dr. José Sarrá to provide high quality and affordable
pharmaceutical and homeopathic products to the people of Cuba.

Droguería Sarrá was expanded and improved to become the largest
pharmaceutical and distribution company in Cuba and in Latin America until
1960 when a communist government confiscated all private businesses.
During its history, Droguería Sarrá received numerous awards and distinctions:
• In 1881, King Alfonso XII of Spain named Dr. José Sarrá "Pharmacist and Druggist to the Royal House" with the right to use the Spanish Royal Coat of Arms on the Droguería Sarrá labels, invoices and prescriptions .
•In 1899 The American Druggist and Pharmaceutical Record recognized the La Reunion, the pharmacy portion of the Sarrá establishment as being the "prettiest and more prosperous pharmacy in the city of Havana".
• In 1934, the Congress of the Republic of Cuba awarded Droguería
Sarrá the right to use the Coat of Arms of the Republic on its
samples, invoices and labels.
The Sarrá Scholarship was awarded annually to the outstanding
student of Pharmacy of the University of Havana and of the University of
Villanova in Havana.
Located in the Colonial Section of Havana, Droguería Sarrá occupied
45 buildings with more than 40,000 square meters of area.
The United Nations designated Droguería Sarrá's Main
Building, located at the corner of Teniente Rey and Compostela,
as an International Heritage Site.
The Sarrá name is still recognized in Cuba today.
In 1999, grandchildren
and great- grandchildren of Dr. Ernesto José Sarrá established in
Florida Drogueria Sarrá S.A., Inc. d/b/a Sarrá Natural Products to offer
the public the same quality, trust and excellence that is a family
tradition.
To that purpose, and following the family tradition, Dr. Luis
Ernesto Mejer Sarrá, a grandson of Dr. Ernesto José Sarrá, formulated
the cutting edge nutraceuticals presently being sold as Sarrá
Natural Products in drugstores and pharmacies in Florida, New York and
New Jersey and via telephone and e-mail throughout the U.S. and worldwide.
To date, four products have been formulated:
• Cardionil™, designed to maintain healthy levels of
homocysteine and cholesterol in the blood.
• Varonil2000™, for the total health of men.
• LycoRich™, for prostate peace of mind.
Entering the 21st Century and following a 150-year old tradition,
the Sarrá name still endeavors to offer the same quality, trust
